Really need to get back into blogging!!
So if you were running for president than on your website you would put your BEST stuff out there for all to see. Well so have Barack and John… To read what their opinions of the best they have to offer please check out Barack Obama on issues and John McCain on issues.
Read these two articles and think about, “If this is the best they have to offer, is that enough.”
Please do not vote for one person because of your dislike for the other.
Please do not listen to what anybody else says about these two people – everything is a marketing ploy.
Don’t put up with political attach adds – they both do it, and that’s a shame; but don’t listen to them. Don’t listen to what they say about each other, but only what they say about America.
Remember the important issues:
Abortion is no longer important! Please realize this and move forward. Alot of evangelical Christians voted for Bush because they believed that a conservative Grand Jury could overturn Row V. Wade. This of course is ridiculous, however it has been proven that it’s not possible in the last eight years.
Gay Marriage is no longer important! Individual states are responsible for who can and who can’t get married. Please do not let that be an issue in determining who you vote for.
Things that are currently important:
The Economy
Gas prices (linked to the economy)
Health care (linked to the economy)
Education (linked to the economy)
The War (linked to the economy)
Illegal Immigration (linked to the economy)
in case you’re wondering why I don’t blog much anymore, been doing more twittering lately so check it out… twitter.com/davetonn

So I’m listening to K-Love (don’t worry I know – just something positive for a change, but yes – horrible) anyways, I’m listening to K-Love and some song is on that I’ve never heard before. There is this one lyric that stood out to me… “Heaven is a place where every tear on your face, will be wiped away.”
This sentence is found in a couple of places in the Bible, but by far the most common, and most probable verse being referenced here is Revelation 21:4, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
So, it appears to me that Christians have about about as much of an idea of what heaven is that Miller Lite does (see post below).
Now, reading that entire paragraph we might see something different. 21″1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
So read carefully, “the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down OUT OF HEAVEN!!!!!” ‘Now the dwelling of God is with men!” Then he wipes away their tears. So, where is it where people have their tears wiped away?
ON EARTH!
If you don’t understand that, take an english class then re-read that paragraph. If you still think that we will spend eternity in Heaven, then there isn’t much any one can do for you.
Have you seen these Miller Lite commercials? They’re lame, but hey it’s a beer commercial, what do you expect right? Ok so the main idea in beer heaven is to never have an empty, to have your bar tender look like your ideal mate, and to be able to put your feet up in every chair…
It appears to me that Miller has no clue what heaven is.
In the scriptures heavens literal description is scarce, but its parabolic descriptions – abundant. Jesus explains to us through glorious parabolic rhetoric that heaven is something like a tree, a field, a man sowing seed, yeast in bread, a net for catching fish, a wedding, etc…
To Miller heaven is about everything catered to you – to give you whatever physical pleasure you seek; while to Jesus heaven is about everybody else. To Miller, heaven is about getting what you want; while to Jesus, heaven is about giving to those that need help.
I don’t know where this idea of heaven came from – that heaven is all about you and all. Well, Miller – it’s not!
…for houses is a lot different than shopping for shoes. This is to be the first house that I will have ever put an offer in on. My wife Heather and I, have looked a few times in the past and finally feel we are responsible enough to pull the trigger on buying a house. Don’t ask me why we feel this way, we didn’t even have enough money to pay our own taxes! Nonetheless, after raising the percentage of how much work takes out of my check each week to make sure it doesn’t happen again next year we did it. We put an offer in on a house; in freaking Scottsdale no less!
If you were to ask me 6 months ago if I were going to buy a house in Scottsdale I would have said, ‘no ephing way!’ However, due to the recent market crash, and the unfortunate circumstance that someone else defaulted on a loan, I’m a pretty good spot here.
We’ve only put an offer in. We probably won’t even get (statistically speaking I mean). But hey, we’re excited to try! Updates will be coming soon, and hopefully pictures to. Thank you all for your prayers and your generosity this year that has made this possible.
P.s. We find out by Friday if our offer is either accepted or declined…If it’s declined -either Tempe or Mesa, Here we come!
